In 2010 the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) will replace the Universities Admissions Index (UAI). Achieving an ATAR score of 99.95 is the same as achieving a UAI of 100- a student receiving 99.95 is in the top ranked group of students.

The rules of the ATAR are exactly the same as for the UAI. The scaling process will be the same, the rank order will be the same and the same applicants will be selected for the same courses. Any small change in an ATAR compared to a UAI will see an equivalent change in the course cut-off.

While applicants to the Macquarie BBA will ultimately be accepted to a CSP position based in a specific ATAR cutoff, direct ICMS applicants will be assessed on other criteria such as results in specific year 12 subjects and extracurricular pursuits. All applicants attend an interview at the college where we asses interest in the course applied for and commitment to pursuing a profession.

Where and when do we submit a UAC application?

UAC applications are open from 1 August - 30 September and can be done via the UAC website.

When helping your son or daughter pick a course and a university you will need to consider:

  • The availability of courses Consult the UAC guide which university or college offers the degree that they are interested in studying.
  • Does the university or college offer a career services department to assist you son or daughter in planning their career and their future.
  • Are there extracurricular activities available
Change of Preferences

Applicants are able to change their preferences for ICMS courses up until 5 January 2012.

What financial assistance is available?

Is there any pre- requisites for courses at ICMS?

At ICMS we encourage students to take subjects in year 11 and 12 which would benefit them when they apply to study with us in the future. Areas we encourage students to take subjects in is Mathematics (this does not have to be Advanced Mathematics, students can take general Mathematics), English, Business Studies, Economics, Hospitality, Tourism & Events and Social Studies.

Are there specific subjects my Son or Daughter should be choosing in years 11 and 12?

These subjects will assist in the application process to ICMS along with the course material during studies. These subjects are not required, rather recommended for students who are interested in studying with ICMS in the future
