Industry Training is coordinated by the Industry Training Department and is a compulsory component of all undergraduate programs. During Industry Training, students are required to undertake employment with a suitable. Approved and relevant industry employer and achieve a required number of hours with that employer, reports and an assignment.

The Industry Training period is approximately nine months full time, or the equivalent part-time for Associate and Degree students. During this nine months placement students must accrue 1200 hours of employment. For Diploma and Sport students the Industry Training period is approximately 4 months and students must accrue 600 hours of employment. Industry Training may be taken as full time, part time or volunteer work.

In order for students to be prepared for Industry Training, The Industry Training Department requires that all students complete an Industry Training Preparation Program. This program involves compulsory activities including workshop attendance, resume writing and interview preparation.

Once a student has completed the Industry Training Preparation Program and has completed the prerequisite subjects, the Industry Training Consultants will assist with industry placement. The Industry Training team provide information, support and guidance for all matters dealing with Industry Training.

While on Industry Training, students will have their workplace supervisors complete performance reports and will complete a workplace related assignment. The reports and assignment are then submitted to Industry Training Department for marking. Students are expected to achieve a satisfactory grade in each area to satisfy the requirements of Industry Training.
