If you are living on campus, you should check-in on the Saturday or Sunday prior to the commencement of Orientation week (O Week).
Once your travel details have been confirmed you must let us know whether you will arrive on the Saturday or Sunday.
What happens if I will be arriving early?
If you are living on campus and are arriving in Sydney prior to the Saturday before the commencement of O week you can request to check-in to your on-campus accommodation early. There is a cost for early accommodation and it is subject toavailability. Please contact

if you wish to arrive before the weekend prior to O week.
Do I need to attend O Week?
Yes. O Week is compulsory for all new students and includes important sessions such as official enrolment; uniform fitting and academic briefings, as well as a range of fun team-building activities and tours.
How do I know if I have on campus accommodation?
If you have requested to live on campus you will receive an ‘Accommodation Request Received’ email stating that your first or second preference has been successful and full payment needs to be made at least 30 day prior to check-in. Once full payment has been received a ‘confirmation’ email will be sent.
How do I get from the airport to ICMS?
On public transport the combined cost of travel from the airport to ICMS is approximately $22. From the airport, you will need to catch a train to Circular Quay, then take the ferry to Manly wharf, then catch a bus to ICMS. Shuttle buses need to be booked at least one week in advance. Please note that ICMS does not organise airport pickup for students.
Taxis - $80-$120
No booking necessary, taxis are located outside the main entrance of both the international and domestic terminals. Taxis will accept cash, Master Card and Visa. Tipping is not required and is done so at your own discretion. Ensure the driver turns on the meter immediately once your trip commences. You should expect to pay toll charges on top of your fare.

How do I order my business suit and shoes?
Your suit and shoe package will be delivered to you the following week at college. You can bring your own shoes if you wish - however they need to comply with the College's requirements.

Females: Shoes are to be plain, black leather, non-slip court shoes with a rounded toe. Hospitality students will also require plain black leather, lace-up rubber soled shoes for kitchen classes.

Males: Shoes are to be plain, black-laced, leather business shoes or business style slip ons, with non-slip soles.
When do I get my business attire?
You will be fitted for your new business attire (some people like to call it a uniform) in orientation week. Every effort will be made to assure you have your business attire by the first day of calls, however as some items require alteration or have to be made especially, delivery can take from 10 to 15 working days.
How much does the business attire cost?
That depends what course you are studying, and how much you have to buy. Typically a jacket with two pairs of pants or two skirts costs around $420.

What should I wear during O Week?
Business attire is required for O Week. Business pants / skirts, closed toed polished shoes, and business shirts and blouses (no jacket required) are acceptable. You will also be attending a number of team-building activities, so bring some good walking shoes and sports gear. Until your business suit arrives you will be expected to wear business attire to classes.
Do I need an Australian bank account?
Yes. If you plan to work in Australia, you will need an Australian bank account. ANZ bank is the preferred bank of ICMS students. ANZ has an ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) on campus, a branch in Manly, and a dedicated support team for ICMS students. Students are able to transfer College fees directly from ANZ accounts. ANZ bank representatives are available on campus during orientation to assist you to set up an ANZ bank account.
Do I need health insurance to study in Australia?
Yes. All students coming to Australia are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). This is a necessary step in obtaining your Australian student visa. ICMS will arrange your first year of coverage with our preferred provider Medibank. It is the students responsibility to ensure that they maintain cover for the duration of their studies.
If you already have current Overseas Student Health Cover, a copy of your current membership is required prior to accepting your offer.
