For me O week was a fantastic opportunity to meet new and current students and get a true taste of what my life at ICMS would be like for the next three years. On first arriving at what seemed like an incredibly huge castle everyone was so friendly as I was greeted by sharp looking students who took me up to the Great Hall for my official registration. The rest of Monday and Tuesday consisted of tours and orientations into into the different parts of the college life and courses.

There were also lots of social activities like BBQ’s with music and entertainment as well as the famous Cocktail Party on the Tuesday night, which was out on the front steps looking over the beautiful Manly Beach. All of these events gave me an opportunity to meet and greet my fellow peers and lecturers, making me feel comfortable and excited for what was to come.

Wednesday to Friday was jam packed with more social activities and I continued to meet more and more people. There were parties in the student bar one of which even had a live reptile demonstration, which successfully freaked out nearly all of the international students. On Thursday night there was even a student run nightlife induction of all the Manly bars and clubs. The highlight of O-Week for me however was the Weekend Surf Trip up to Crescent Head. About 70 new students jumped on a bus up the coast for a trip that consisted of three surf lessons, beach parties and sun baking. By the end of my O-Week I knew I had made the right choice, ICMS was definitely the right place for me
