O-week provides the new students with an opportunity to get to know each other is a safe fun environment. We run activities such as a Scavenger Hunt, which promotes team work and competitiveness in a fun way. The Scavenger Hunt consists of multiple teams going into Manly and completing a list of activities and actions of which you get points for. The teams with the highest amount of points wins.
As everyone is new to the University we run a number of night activities to allow the students to understand more about the Australian way of life whilst beginning to build friendships over a dink. The Cocktail party is the first activity on the Tuesday night which starts with a welcoming ceremony. This party always has the new students dressing to impress. On the Wednesday night we run an Australia party which has a ranger come and display some of Australia's finest and most dangerous animals. During the night student also get the opportunity to hold some of these animals, which is quite the rush.
Friday, holding Commencement Day, is a highlight. All students have the opportunity to sign up to the different student group, participate in the activities running on the day and try some of the cool attractions, such as a mechanical surf board, blow up twister or a Velcro wall. This was concluded with a water fight to ensure no one misses out.
