Course Description - BPP

The Business Preparation Program (BPP) is a 12 week course with 20 hours per week face to face English language instruction plus some online work and a significant private study requirement. BPP develops the business communication, academic writing, English language and introductory research skills critical for success in diploma and degree programs at ICMS.

You will study our English language course plus one subject from your ICMS undergraduate program. Studying BPP allows you to become familiar with the ICMS campus and academic style before you start your full undergraduate program.

In BPP you will develop skills in:

• Writing essays and business reports;
• Verbal communication;
• Listening;
• Critical reading;
• Delivering successful presentations;
• Critical thinking;
• Case study analysis; and
• Use of the ICMS library catalogues and databases.

Course Description - BPP Plus

BPP Plus is a 12 week course which develops the business communication, academic writing, English language and introductory research skills critical for success in diploma and degree programs at ICMS.

You will study the full English language component of the BPP as well as an additional online support component provided by the IELTS Master course. You will need to complete the Listening Module of the IELTS Master course before beginning BPP Plus, and will complete the other three modules of IELTS Master through additional study of 5 hours per week over the 12 weeks of the course.

In BPP Plus you will develop skills in:

• Writing essays and business reports;
• Verbal communication;
• Delivering successful presentations;
• Critical thinking;
• Case study analysis; and
• Use of the ICMS library catalogues and databases.  

Additional Qualifications

Students who successfully complete the BPP or BPP Plus gain direct entry into the ICMS Diploma or Associate Degree programs.

Entry Requirements

BPP

You must meet the full academic requirements for entry to your chosen undergraduate program and have either:

• An IELTS score of 5.0 overall (minimum IELTS 5.0 in Speaking and 4.5 in Writing and Listening/Reading) or equivalent if planning to enter the ICMS Associate Degree in Business or an ICMS Diploma or
• An IELTS score of 5.5 overall (minimum 5.5 in Speaking and 5.0 in Writing and Listening/Reading) or equivalent if planning to enter the Bachelor of Business Administration.
  The Business Preparation Program can be packaged with any ICMS Diploma or Degree program.

BPP Plus

You must meet the full academic requirements for entry to your chosen undergraduate program and have either:

• An IELTS score of 4.5 overall (minimum IELTS 4.5 in Speaking and 4.0 in Writing and Listening/Reading) or equivalent if planning to enter the ICMS Associate Degree in Business or an ICMS Diploma or
• An IELTS score of 5.0 overall (minimum 5.0 in Speaking and 4.5 in Writing and Listening/Reading) or equivalent if planning to enter the Bachelor of Business Administration.

BPP Plus can be packaged with any of the ICMS Diploma or Associate Degree programs.
