The NSW liquor laws mandate responsible service of alcohol training for the liquor industry.
These requirements reflect the importance of ensuring licensees and staff understand their obligations in serving liquor responsibly and the types of strategies that can be implemented to add value to a venue’s operations.
Who needs to complete the RSA course?
RSA training applies to:

licensees;
-
approved managers;
-
staff, including promotional staff, involved in the sale, supply and service of alcohol;

volunteers, including club directors, who have liquor service responsibilities and

security officers with crowd control duties.

RSA Training
ICMS offers all students the opportunity to obtain their RSA Certification. The cost of this training is $120.00 payable in advance of the allocated training session at the Student Services Desk. The cost covers, training, course notes and the costs of the photo card.

Upon RSA Completion
After successfully completing the ICMS RSA training course, ICMS will give you an interim certificate which will then allow you to apply for your RSA Photo Competency Card. You have 60 days upon receiving your interim certificate to apply for your card at the Post Office.Australia Post outlet finder

This photo card must be retained when working on licensed premises. By law, you must have the photo competency card with you when you are working in jobs that require RSA qualifications. The photo competency card is valid for five years.

Once you have your photo card, it’s important you notify OLGR if you change your address. You should complete and lodge a Change of Details – Competency Card form found here
