How do the double degrees work?

At ICMS you can combine any two of our degrees to make a double degree, or you can add an ICMS specialisation or the ICMS BBM to your Macquarie BBA – it’s as simple as that! Our double degree combinations are flexible, the way you combine them will depend on your interests, abilities and career aspirations. And you don’t have to choose to study a double degree when you first apply to ICMS, in fact, you can make your decision as late as the final trimester of your first degree.

Your choices are

  • To complete a second specialisation
For example you could combine your degree in hospitality with a second degree in sports, events, international tourism, property or retail management.
  • To complete an business management degree on top of your specialisation
For example you could combine your degree in events, hospitality, property, international tourism, retail, property or sport management with a more general degree in business management.
  • To complete another specialisation or a Bachelor of Business Management on top of your Macquarie BBA
For example you could complete your Macquarie BBA with a specialisation in international tourism and then complete a second specialisation in hospitality, events, sport, retail property or business management.
  • To get a more general business degree and then your specialist degree
For example while you are completing your ICMS BBM you might have sampled some property management subjects, decided on property as your future career path, and complete your degree in property management after you complete your BBM.

Double your career choices

A double degree from ICMS can either expand your career options or gain you more qualifications to take you down a particular career path. For example, if your first degree was in event management but your area of interest is in organising sporting events, a double that combines event management with sport management will help you move down that particular career path. However, if your career ambition is to travel the world, a double degree that combines hospitality with international tourism will broaden your career options as you travel.
