Industry Training

Nine month Industry Training boosts your qualifications, and increases your career opportunities.

When you study for your Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor's degree at ICMS, theory and academic study are only part of the picture. Our Industry Training program is an equally important part of our curriculum. It's not just valuable experience; it's a structured and supervised part of your course. During your first year of study you will work with our Professional & Career Development team who will prepare you for your employment opportunity and by meeting our professional standards you can accrue the industry training hours required to obtain your Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree.

Depending on the nature of the industry you are working in this may be paid or volunteer work. The College's Professional & Career Development team will assess your skill level and aptitude, and prepare you for this important phase of your education.

You will be taught how to collate a résumé, conduct yourself in interviews and find out more about what prospective employers look for. A one on one pre-placement session will provide you with feedback, confidence and the tools to secure a great Industry training placement. The Professional & Career Development team provides considerable assistance in obtaining placements around Australia, and in some cases, internationally.

Please note: Students who have started the Macquarie University BBA or Macquarie University pathway in May 2011, September 2011 or February 2012 will study their Industry Training at the end of their program.
