Student Mentors

Student Mentors are senior students whose role is to assist new students with adjusting to the level of professional ism that is expected at ICMS, and to help students in preparation for Industry Training and ultimately for their future careers.
Mentors are generally in their third year of studies, have completed Industry Training and exemplify professionalism on all levels. Mentors are able to share their experiences and knowledge with students, answer questions about what it means to be professional and provide insight into Industry Training.
New students attending the Professional Performance Course will be appointed a Mentor; this person and the Professional Performance lecturer will be there to guide and mentor new students through the first term at ICMS. Students will meet their lecturer and Mentors on their first day of class.

James Brady

Hi, I’m James Brady and I am currently in my sixth term at ICMS studying Business and Retail Management.

I was born in Sydney and live about half an hour away from College. I did my Industry Training at David Jones in Chatswood, working there since year 10 in High School.

I like to keep busy and spend a lot of time running the alumni association for my old High School as well as helping out casually in the ICMS Development Department as a Student Ambassador. I was also a Residential Assistant at ICMS in the second half of last year.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the college life or studies, I am happy to help out.

Kartik Chaudhri

Hi my name is Kartik Chaudhri and I am in my term six of hospitality management. I am from India and moved to Australia in 2009.

Being a mentor for the first time, I am keen to know the new students. I am looking forward to share both my professional and social experience with the new students.

I love spending time with my friends in Manly / city.

I did my industry training at Sheraton Mirage, Port Douglas, QLD which gave a lot of experience in the hospitality sector.

Louise Lundgren

My name is Louise Lundgren and I am currently undertaking my fifth term of Event Management here at ICMS. I was born in Korea but have lived my entire life in Sweden, until I came here in 2010 to study. This is my first term as a mentor and I am very excited about meeting all the new students and try my best to make them enjoy life as an ICMS student as much as I do.

Looking forward to a great term!

Lucy McLachlan

Hi, I'm Lucy McLachlan, I am a third year Tourism student. I was born and bred in Manly, I can see the college from my house!

I spent a term last year on exchange at Cesar Ritz College in Switzerland and was recently awarded an Academic Scholarship for my third year at ICMS. I did my Industry Training with Swain Tours, an American company specialising in Luxury independant tours of the South Pacific. I still work with Swain Tours on a part-time basis while studying at ICMS.

Ulrike Schoening

Hi, my name is Ulrike and I am a 3rd year student. I am originally from Germany and came here in 2006 for an exchange and afterwards decided to come back for further studies. I have been a mentor for two terms and each term I enjoy meeting the new students and being of assistance to them in developing their professional self. Equally, each term I am sad to see my groups move on, as I just got to know them better. However, I would like to extend my assistance to all students, not only term 1s.

Please feel free to contact me with any issues you are experiencing, the mentors are here to help you!
