About the role

ICMS seeks to recruit for an Associate Dean (Specialisations) to oversee the undergraduate program. This is a pivotal role in the dynamic and fast paced 'Academic Operations' team.

Responsible for the academic, administrative and operational aspects of the discipline across multiple campuses, the Associate Dean provides academic, scholarship and discipline leadership and management within the undergraduate team. Accountabilities include:

  • Assisting the Dean managing the human, physical and financial resources of the faculty on a day to day basis, ensuring equity across campuses
  • Reviewing courses and subjects as per the L&T Evaluation Framework
  • Leading enhancements to student outcomes and experience, operational efficiency, regulatory reporting and academic learning and teaching
  • Ensuring that the college's L&T principles are implemented in that content, style of delivery, learning outcomes and assessment all support the ICMS graduate attributes and the course outcomes
  • Maintaining currency within the discipline innovations, trends and employability outcomes and incorporating these into reviews
  • Engaging in scholarly and/or applied research activity
  • Overseeing the development of course and subject materials to ICMS standards
  • Preparing recommendations each term for the timetable and teaching workloads
  • Performing broad academic administrative and management functions at the faculty and/or institutional level including academic and governance for the Academic Board, BOE and Learning and Teaching Committees
  • Teaching duties over the academic year as negoitiated with the Dean Academic Operations

About you

To be successful in applying for this role, you should have/be able to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline or in academic leadership
  • A successful track record in management of academic staff in the higher education sector
  • Extensive understanding of the regulatory environment for higher edcation in the Australian public and private education sector
  • A successful track record in managing and enhancing academic quality
  • Superior analytic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Extensive teaching experience at undegraduate degree levels in business, management and the professional services sector
  • Excellent organisastional and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
