ESL (English as a Second Language) and Academic Advisor

About the College 

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), a leading private provider of higher education, is seeking to appoint an experienced person to the position of ESL and Academic Advisor on a full-time, 5 days per week, basis.

The position is a student support role, working closely with the Manager of the Student Success Centre (SSC) and the SSC team to ensure any student who requires specialised ESL and academic support, is given the assistance they need in a timely manner, through one-to-one or small group, personalised advice, through various mediums of delivery on our city and Manly campuses. This is not a teaching role. The position must also support the Manager, Student Success Centre in monitoring student progression in accordance with ICMS’ progression policy.

Essential Criteria

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant ESL discipline
  • A teaching qualification
  • Experience in supporting a diverse range of students
  • Exhibit a passion for an holistic approach to student support
  • Sound interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience in working in a team-based environment
  • Advanced technical skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a similar position with students within a higher education environment
  • Demonstrate creative achievement

Salary: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00
