Subject Aim:

To provide you with an overall understanding of the role of pro-active property management covering all the different facets of management so that the property or portfolio of properties support the achievement of the property investment or development objectives and are also managed on an economical and environmentally sustainable basis.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Interpret and critically analyse the effect of legal, physical and other parameters that govern the management of income producing property assets in various commercial property markets
  2. Establish and manage the implementation of performance management frameworks and strategies as they apply to commercial investment properties
  3. Show a h2 understanding of a range of contemporary issues impacting on the market demand and use, ownership and investment returns as these apply to various sectors of commercial investment properties
  4. Evaluate the procedures and processes involved in negotiating and establishing commercial leases including options and rent reviews

 

Student Assessment:

Exams will take place in weeks 12 & 13. Please refer to the official Exam Timetable for further information. Students are required to prepare for assessments by reading the subject matter in course notes, handouts and readings. Class work and practical application of theory assist in reinforcing the importance of this subject’s topics. Each student is required to participate in class discussions of current sponsorship, advertising and public relations issues.
