“Cam has won everything in the game, but also has exemplary leadership skills off-field gravitas and enormous pulling power. If I’m setting up a new team I’d make him the captain-coach, simple as that.”
– Matthew Johns, Commentator
“He takes a lot of pride in his all-round performance and one of those aspects is his leadership. He’s a great captain and a great leader. The accolades he receives are very fitting for the person he is”.
– Kevin Walters , Brisbane Broncos Head Coach
“I’ve said publicly and in commentary a few times, I think he’s (Smith) the best I’ve ever seen. He plays the game differently, like he’s watching from 20 metres above. He’s the most humble champion I’ve ever met – a really good fella – a salt of the earth sort of guy. I just love that he loves the game of rugby league so much.”
– Andrew Johns, Rugby League Immortal
