New Look for ICMS Bandicoots

New Look for ICMS Bandicoots

December 13, 2017

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) Bandicoots have a brand new logo to match the NSW higher education institution’s growing prowess on the sporting front.

ICMS athletes punch above their weight against institutions with larger student bodies at national competitions such as the Australian University Games.

For example, ICMS surfers took gold in men’s longboarding for the third year in a row at the Australian University Games that took place on the Gold Coast earlier this year, and the team ranks third in the country overall.

The ICMS Futsal team made it to the top four at the Australian University Games this year after placing third at the Eastern University Games (NSW). This after a fantastic season where the team added a fifth trophy at local division 1 at North Manly.

The bandicoot is a nocturnal marsupial only found at North Head, where ICMS’ campus is located. The animal was chosen as the ICMS sports mascot 21 years ago to raise awareness among the students and the local community of the endangered status of the animal.

The new-look logo design will spur athletes on to even greater achievements, designed to reflect ICMS’ growth over the past two decades and future commitment to sports at a national level in 2018.

In addition to surfing and futsal, other sports offered over the years at ICMS include netball, basketball, volleyball, rugby and tennis, with activities such as yoga, boot camp, Zumba, swimming and a running club also enjoyed by students.

“From 2018 we want to push our involvement at Unigames and widen our success in new sporting codes,” Alice De Innocentiis, ICMS Dean of Students and Head of Athletic Department, said. De Innocentiis is a current member of the Australian Women National Volleyball Team.

“When it comes to sport we are certainly punching above our weight at a state and national level and 2018 will be even better.”
