Streamlined timetables and the option to study fully online are two ways in which the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is supporting school leavers who wish to enter the job market straight after school.
Choosing to work after school at the expense of studying further is a risk school leavers may not want to take if they want to rise into management level positions in the future.
“With the unemployment rate so low in Australia at the moment, it’s tempting to skip tertiary education and get a job straight after school. However, it’s really important that students take the opportunity to study a bachelor degree, and pursue the end goal of attaining a degree that supports their future career,” Todd Palioca, ICMS Senior Vice President (Domestic and International Development), said.
“Degrees open the door to managerial level positions. School leavers who jump straight into a job run the risk of hitting a career ceiling beyond which it is much harder to progress compared to colleagues who have obtained a degree.”
Be Future-Career-Focused
“ICMS has set up one of the most flexible study environments in the country for our undergraduate students. We know that you will want to work but at the same time, you want to study to get ahead,” Palioca said.
Streamlined timetables over two days are limited so applicants will need to accept their offer promptly to secure their spot for this incredible opportunity.

Key Features of the ICMS Flexible Timetable and Studying Online
* Engage in your first trimester online classes, two days of the week, leaving the remaining weekdays and weekend to work and self-study when it suits your schedule.
* Applicants have their streamlined timetables organised for them by the enrolment team.
* Study online or face to face, switching between the two modes available as required.
* Industry placement: Every ICMS degree includes a minimum 600-hour internship as part of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program, and this includes students who study online.
* Studying online doesn’t mean studying alone, as ICMS lecturers provide individual attention and support to students as part of the ICMS Professional Mentor Eco-System. Lectures can be attended online, and these are recorded for access at a later stage. Online students engage in group work with their peers and are invited to be a part of on-campus class sessions.
“Not every student chooses or needs to work while studying, but for those who go down this route there are many benefits. Alongside earning wages while being a student, those students who work master time management skills, gain valuable professional experience for their CV, and network and make connections for their future career,” Palioca said.
“All of this can be achieved while still working towards securing a degree with the flexible study options at ICMS, leading to a fulfilling professional career at the end of the study period.”
ICMS Degrees That Can Be Studied Fully Online (as well as on-Campus)
* Bachelor of Business (Sports Management)

* Bachelor of Property (Development, Investment and Valuation)
“ICMS is offering this opportunity of flexible timetabling and online studying as part of our professional mentor ecosystem. We are career-focused and put the evolving needs of our students at the forefront of our degree offering,” Palioca said.
Business as Usual With on-Campus Studies
ICMS is located in Northern Beaches, Sydney, NSW, and in the city of Sydney.
The higher education institution offers a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas alongside the degrees available in this limited offer.
Online students are included in the student community and welcome to take part in student life and all campus activities.
“Studying is important so we have put together a timetable that will fit your work ambitions if you choose to study and work at the same time,” Palioca said.
“We don’t want students to lose out on the opportunity to study now because if you just work, it’s very hard to come back to studying later on in life. Flexibility through streamlined timetabling and online study options is a way ICMS can enable students to get the best of both worlds.”
