With colleague, developed and in 2011 successfully sold Platinum Ear Care and Austaxis. Currently Chair of Oysta (web-based recruitment start-up, using video); Director, Univ Co-op Bookshops; Chair, Beta Investments; Chair, Advisory Board & Investment Cttee, Crescent Wealth; Advisory Board, ThinBlueLine (crisis preparedness, management, recovery).

Member, Universities Council of Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission (1983-86). Vice-Chancellor/President of Macquarie University & Australia’s first woman VC/President (1987-2006). Presidencies included AVCC (now Universities Australia); Golden Key Int Honor Society; Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Network; IDP Education Australia; Aust Higher Education Industrial Assoc. Formerly Vice-President, Assoc of Universities of Asia Pacific and Graduate Careers Council of Australia. On Executive of Assoc of C’wealth Univs, Int Assoc of University Presidents (Regional Chair); Aust Education Office (USA). On PM’s Science, Engineering & Innovation Council; Director of Navitas and Open Universities Australia. 

Chair, AIM Overseas (student mobility company), International College of Management, Sydney and Victory College of Arts & Media; on Board, National Society of High School Scholars, USA; member, UWS Arts Advisory Cttee; National Acoustics Laboratory’s Research Ethics Cttee. 

On Government Accreditation & Review Panels. Chaired/served on 20-plus governmental reviews in Australian & overseas. From 1974 held positions re discrimination and status of women.
