As a Professional Placement Consultant for Sports at ICMS, Jack Burey brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. With a primary focus on overseeing the Sports Management and ISCA Diploma of Sports Management (High Performance) students, Jack is dedicated to guiding and supporting aspiring sports professionals.

With a successful career in the sports industry, Jack’s background includes six seasons as the Executive General Manager of Northern Suburbs Rugby Union in the prestigious Shute Shield. He has also held significant roles with the QLD Reds and ACT Brumbies, gaining valuable insights into elite sports management. Additionally, Jack has a unique global perspective, having played rugby and lived abroad in Edinburgh, further enhancing his understanding of the international sports landscape.

Jack’s educational qualifications include a Graduate Certificate of Business Administration from Swinburne University, and he is currently pursuing an MBA degree. This combination of practical experience and academic knowledge equips him with a holistic approach to sports management and leadership.

Originally hailing from Wagga Wagga, Jack has a deep-rooted connection to sport and a genuine passion for fostering community engagement through athletic endeavours. He understands the power of sports in bringing people together and creating meaningful connections.

Outside of his professional career, Jack remains an active individual who enjoys playing golf in his pursuit of achieving a scratch handicap. This commitment to personal fitness and recreation reflects his dedication to maintaining a well-rounded lifestyle, mirroring the values he instils in his students and clients.

Having previously mentored ICMS students through the WIL (Work Integrated Learning) program during his tenure at Northern Suburbs Rugby, Jack is intimately familiar with the institution’s educational philosophy and values. His past mentorship experiences have further solidified his belief in the transformative power of practical learning opportunities and the importance of connecting academia with industry practices.
