February 2025 ICMS O-Week: Starting Strong with Support and Celebration

February 13, 2025

The February 2025 Orientation Week (O-Week) at ICMS wasn’t just an introduction to campus – it was the perfect way for students to kick off their college life.

Held from 27 January to 31 January, O-Week combined a lot of fun with plenty of support, ensuring new students felt confident and connected as they got ready to start their studies.

A Warm Welcome to the ICMS Community

From day one, new students were immersed in what makes the ICMS experience unique – its close-knit, supportive environment.

Faculty and staff were out in force at events like the Welcome Cocktail Party, chatting with students and creating a relaxed space to form connections.

This focus on mentoring and personal support gave students the chance to feel part of the ICMS community right from the start.

There was no shortage of activities to help students settle in.

A colour run, coastal walks, a bonfire evening, and a sunset BBQ gave everyone a chance to enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Northern Beaches Campus while meeting classmates in a fun, informal way.

The SRC even hosted a lively fashion parade, blending entertainment with practical advice on professional attire.

Practical Support, Personal Growth

O-Week was about more than just meeting people – it was about setting students up for success.

First-years were able to get a handle on essentials like setting up their computers and finding their way around the campus.

At the same time, they got to meet their lecturers and learn more about their courses in a supportive, friendly environment.

The Student Success Centre played a big role too, making sure students knew about all the resources available to help them thrive during their time at ICMS.

It’s these meaningful, hands-on moments of support that highlight ICMS’s dedication to helping students from their first day through to graduation.

Bachelor of Business (Sports Management) student Isabella Callipari summed it up best, saying, “O-Week was such a great way to meet people and feel part of the ICMS community right from the start.”

A Start to Remember

For this year’s first-year intake, O-Week was a celebration of new beginnings, a chance to create memories, and an opportunity to get a head start on building friendships and networks that will last far beyond graduation.

ICMS prides itself on being more than a place to study – it’s a community where every student is supported and encouraged to thrive personally and professionally.

February 2025 O-Week was a perfect example of that ethos in action, laying the foundation for an exciting year ahead.
