In a competitive and ever-growing world, innovation and creativity is one of the best tools for creating long-lasting advantage and business success. Managers and leaders need to know how to introduce innovation and creativity strategies to build sustainable businesses.
In this subject, students will analyse the drivers of innovation and attributes of successful innovation strategies. Through realising how creativity is translated into innovation, students will discover where good ideas come from and how these can be encouraged through creative practices.
Using the design thinking method, students will generate ideas, develop a prototype and present a marketable product or service by considering ethical, responsible and sustainable standards.
a) Reflect on the characteristics of business innovation and analyse strengths and weaknesses of innovation strategies
b) Analyse conditions that support successful new product or new services development
c) Apply various methods that enhance creative ability and innovation
d) Explain the importance of ethics, responsible management and sustainability and its impact on new venture business models
e) Design an innovation including the full concept characterisation
