Course level of study pre-requisite: a total of 12 credit points including ACC101A, MKT101A, STA101A and MGT101A from level 100 core subjects (approximately 80% completion of level 100 core subjects) prior enrolling into level 200 core and specialisation subjects.

Subject Aim:
As future property professionals, students must acquaint themselves with, and acquire basic knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles of Land and Property Law.
This subject will aim to encourage students to look at the law relating to real and personal property in Australia, and apply their knowledge to how to buy and sell property, undertake a conveyance, leases and register different interests on title along with the impact such existing interests have on property ownership.

Learning Outcomes:
a) Explain the various types of interest in land including leasehold.
b) Apply legal knowledge to determine key issues relating to ownership or leasehold of land and the potential to develop land.
c) Analyse the impacts of Native Title, easements, covenants, freehold title, leasehold and co-ownership on the concept of property ownership.
d) Apply the principles and procedures of law as they relate to property.
