A Global Community of International Students for Three Decades

A Global Community of International Students for Three Decades

March 26, 2026

For 30 years, ICMS has been a hub for students from more than 125 countries. With a campus that brings together people from every corner of the globe, ICMS offers a truly international experience.

From Australia and New Zealand to China, Germany, Kenya, and Brazil, ICMS students represent a wide range of cultures and perspectives.

This diversity enriches classroom discussions, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements, and the friendships formed on campus.

At ICMS, being international isn’t just a concept, it’s part of everyday life.

Practical Learning with Global Impact

ICMS’s focus on practical, industry-based learning is a major draw for students.

Margarida Vicente from Portugal, studying a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management), is completing her WIL internship as a Team Manager at Sporting Clube de Portugal, one of the country’s top football clubs.

“ICMS connects theory with real-world experience,” she says. “It’s helped me grow academically, professionally, and personally.”

Shaun Olsen from New Zealand, now an Event Manager with Motti + Smith Events in Sydney, agrees.

“I chose ICMS because of its strong reputation for graduate employment and industry connections,” he says.

These connections helped Shaun secure his current role, showing how ICMS prepares students for the workforce.

For Anamaria Mihaescu from Romania, ICMS opened the door to new opportunities.

Now the Director of Event Technology at Encore APAC in Sydney, she says: “When I moved halfway across the world, I thought I was just starting a degree.

“But the universe handed me a key, one that opened a whole new chapter of who I could become.”

A Supportive Place to Study

For many international students, ICMS is more than just a college, it’s a supportive community.

Samantha Hardiman, a Master of International Business graduate from South Africa, now works at Salesforce in Sydney.

She highlights the personalised support she received: “From admissions to faculty and support staff, ICMS is focused on empowering students. The attentiveness of the staff really stood out to me.”

The location also plays a big role.

The Northern Beaches Campus, overlooking Manly Beach, offers a unique environment for learning.

Maéva Mba Nyare from France, studying a Master of Event Management, says, “Being next to the beach makes learning so much more enjoyable.”

Building Connections That Last

The friendships and networks formed at ICMS are just as valuable as the education.

Suzy Nguyen from Vietnam, now a Digital Account Manager at Crush Digital in Sydney, says, “The practical experience, international friends, and beautiful campus made my time at ICMS unforgettable.”

Bianca Gonzalez Soto from Puerto Rico, a Study Abroad student interning at Under Armour in Sydney, adds, “It’s a great way to meet new people and experience a different culture.”

A Global Perspective

ICMS’s international community is one of its greatest strengths.

Students from countries like Uzbekistan, Sierra Leone, Iceland, and Guatemala bring unique perspectives to campus life. This diversity prepares students for careers in a globalised world.

As Bianca says about studying in Australia at ICMS, “You need to do it. It’s a great experience.”
