Bringing Industry Leaders to ICMS: Celebrating Real-World Learning

Bringing Industry Leaders to ICMS: Celebrating Real-World Learning

July 27, 2025

ICMS recently hosted its annual WIL Partners Lunch, bringing together industry partners, students, and staff to celebrate the power of Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

WIL is at the heart of ICMS’s approach to education. It’s all about combining classroom learning with real-world experience, giving students the skills and confidence they need to thrive in their careers.

“At ICMS, we believe that learning is a dynamic process that thrives on integration – where theory meets practice and knowledge converges with experience,” Natalie Harrison, ICMS Professional Placement and Alumni Manager, said when thanking industry partners for their role in the success of WIL.

“Work Integrated Learning at ICMS empowers our students to engage deeply with their studies by immersing them in real-world challenges and opportunities.

“This approach not only prepares our students for their careers but also encourages a spirit of innovation and creativity.

“By connecting academic learning with hands-on experience, ICMS ensures that our graduates are not just knowledgeable but also adaptable and resilient in the face of change.”

Unleashing Your Inner Child

This year’s theme, “Unleash Your Inner Child,” was brought to life by guest speaker Maura Magee, Clinical Manager of the Be Centre Foundation.

Maura, who has a master’s in Social Work, spoke about the importance of play and silliness in our lives. Her message was simple but powerful: don’t forget to have fun, even in the busiest of times.

Celebrating Student Success

The lunch also celebrated the achievements of ICMS students who excelled during their professional placements.

These students didn’t just meet expectations – they went above and beyond, showing dedication, professionalism, and a knack for balancing work and study.
