ICMS Appointed Official Higher Education Provider for Manly Marlins Rugby, Strengthening a 20+ Year Partnership

January 28, 2026

ICMS has been named the official higher education provider for the Manly Marlins Rugby Club. This move builds on a partnership that has lasted more than twenty years.

ICMS remains a Gold Sponsor for the Marlins Grade and Colts teams, as well as the Mermaids. This new appointment highlights the important role ICMS plays in helping young athletes in the Manly rugby community with both their education and sport.

ICMS supports players in reaching their goals on and off the field. The partnership is about giving young people more chances to succeed both now and into the future.

A Partnership in the Heart of the Community

The Manly Rugby Union Football Club, set up in 1906, is a big part of the Northern Beaches. The Manly Marlins, based at Manly Oval, are well-known in New South Wales Rugby Union competitions like the Shute Shield.

The ICMS Northern Beaches Campus overlooks Manly and sits close to the Marlins’ home ground. This closeness reflects a strong relationship between the college, the club, and the local community, a connection that has grown over twenty years.

This partnership is visible at community events, especially at the annual ANZAC Day matches against the Warringah Rats.

These games bring in local crowds of up to 6000 supporters for a day that celebrates competition, community, and remembrance.

The club competes in the top-level NSW rugby competition and plays a big part in guiding players towards state and international teams.

Over the years, Manly Marlins has been the starting point for 30 Wallabies and Wallaroos, and has hosted plenty of elite and international players on its fields.

Helping Players Plan for the Future

The partnership is set up to give real support to players. As the Preferred Higher Education Provider, ICMS helps athletes work towards their study goals while still training and playing rugby.

ICMS recognises that building a career in sport also means planning for life after rugby. The college gives students options to learn in a way that fits around busy sporting schedules. This helps athletes gain the skills and qualifications they’ll need later on.

By linking education with sport, ICMS guides athletes to become confident and well-prepared for whatever they choose to do next.

Scholarships That Make a Difference

ICMS, along with the International Sports College Australia (ISCA), offers scholarships to help athletes reach both their sporting and educational potential.

There are scholarships for talented players from different backgrounds, including those from the country. The aim is to give everyone a fair go, so all athletes have access to good education and sports programs, no matter where they live.

The partnership backs diversity in sport and gives new athletes the chance to succeed. This support not only helps grow local rugby but also gives young players more choices for their futures.

The work between ICMS, ISCA, and the Marlins continues to give young people opportunities to develop and reach their goals.
