ICMS Master of International Business graduate Juan Ferrari credits the industry training he undertook during his post-graduate degree at the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) as the launch of his career in Australia.
“ICMS was the first step towards achieving my professional goals and also what triggered the beginning of my career here in Australia. I am here at VW Group thanks to what ICMS offered me,” Ferrari said.
Argentinian national Ferrari completed his accounting degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2014 and came over to Australia to pursue his Master of International Business degree at ICMS which he completed at the end of 2018. He was also a recipient of the prestigious ICMS Postgraduate Innovation Scholarship.
The industry training component built into every degree offered at the career-focused higher education institute located in Northern Beaches, NSW, Sydney, was part of what attracted Ferrari to study at ICMS, in addition to the college’s gorgeous location in Manly, close to Australia’s financial and economic centre.
Ferrari is currently a Treasury and Asset-Backed Securities Operations Analyst at Volkswagen Financial Services Australia (VWFSA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, headquartered in Braunschweig, Germany.
“I did my industry training here at Volkswagen Financial Services Australia. It was great for gaining experience in the Australian market,” Ferrari said.
VWFSA offers competitive Finance and Insurance products to over 700 retailers and represents automotive brands within the Volkswagen Group, including Volkswagen Passenger and Commercial Vehicles, Audi, ŠKODA, Bentley and Lamborghini.
“I am proud of being able to finish my Master’s degree in a foreign country and for becoming a qualified candidate for such an interesting position in finance where I keep learning every day in a multinational company such as VW Group…. The best part about working in this industry is experiencing how challenging working in the world of international business can be.”
To prospective students, particularly from outside Australia, he advised that they pursue opportunities such as studying abroad in order to keep growing and learning.
“Go for it,” Ferrari said.
“Having new and challenging experiences is essential in finding your way as a professional and ICMS will certainly challenge you to get out of your comfort zone.”
