I chose to study at ICMS due to the smaller size of the college and students in a lecture. This has allowed me to grow as an individual with support rather then just being another student in a large classroom. The industry training also attracted me to the college as I feel the best way to learn is through experience.
I am passionate about tourism but also loved business studies at school and knew that a degree in business would be something that would give me a broad range of career options for the future.
In my tourism subjects we have taken field trips to Taronga Zoo as well as down to Manly, which helped us to gain pratical information for assignments.
The tourism assignments are always creative, interesting, relevant and teach us techniques and skills that we will use later in our careers.
I would love to gain a position in the marketing department or as a guest experience manager of an international hotel.
I know that having a scholarship always looks good on your resume, opens up more opportunities to get engaged within the college as well as helping to pay the fees.
I am part of a Thursday night Netball team competition; and have also represented ICMS at Uni games for netball in Wagga Wagga.
So far my ICMS highlights include gaining recognition for my academics through placement on the Deans List and recieving two scholarships. The field trip to Taronga Zoo was another as well as taking part in the Uni Games. Meeting industry professionals has been another highlight and, of course, the friends I have made.
The friends I have made and the opportunities that have been made available to me both career wise and social wise.
