Dr Nicole Hay is the Associate Dean for Tourism, Hospitality & Events.
Dr Hay graduated from the University of Technology in Jamaica with BSc in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2006, where she majored in Hotel and Resort Management.
In 2014, she completed an MSc in Tourism Destination Development at Dalarna University in Sweden. Her thesis was entitled “Photographic Representation of Culture & Identity in Destination Marketing Material: A case study of Jamaica”.
Dr Hay completed the Doctor of Philosophy course in Tourism at the University of Queensland in 2023 with a thesis title: Destination branding in the eyes of residents: Investigating residents’ participation in destination branding.
Before joining ICMS, Dr Hay was a Lecturer in Hospitality in Canterbury Institute of Management’s Darwin Campus.
Dr Hay’s industry experience includes work for Brisbane Marriott Hotel as Conference & Events Executive (2022-2023); Customer Service Supervisor at UniLodge Australia – St Lucia (2018-2022); Sales & Marketing Manager at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, Kingston, Jamaica (2012-2014).
