Martyna Sommer

Martyna Sommer works in Student Services at the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS). She brings a lot to the table in her role as Senior Student Services Specialist (Study Abroad).

Martyna is responsible for Study Abroad and articulation students, coordinating with their home institutions, assisting with enrolments, and facilitating their connections with ICMS academics and the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team.

Before joining ICMS, she ran an online store selling stationery and and also worked as a land surveying technician. Running an online store taught her about what customers want, how to market products, and how to handle day-to-day business challenges. She applies these skills at ICMS to help improve how students are supported during their studies.

Starting an online store also displayed Martyna’s creative and entrepreneurial side, which she applies to her work today to help develop new student programs and ideas successfully.

Her time as a land surveying technician highlighted her ability to analyse data, pay close attention to details, and solve problems. These skills can be useful for tackling complex student issues and improving processes in Student Services.

Overall, Martyna’s diverse background gives her a unique skill set that can make the student experience at ICMS more supportive, engaging, and enriching.
