At ICMS, education meets industry. Through the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program, students enrolled in ICMS degrees gain practical experience with leading companies across various industries.
These professional placements provide students with opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, and establish professional connections.
Many ICMS graduates have been offered roles at the companies where they completed their WIL placements, reflecting the value of their practical experience.
“While on placement, many of our graduates have impressed their team and employers enough to be offered ongoing roles,” says Rowan Courtney-O’Connor, ICMS President and Managing Director.
“This reflects ICMS’s commitment to preparing students for employability.”
Employability is a key focus of ICMS degrees, emphasising technical skills, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and career growth.
ICMS students studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree gain up to 600 hours of industry experience during their studies, helping them develop practical skills and industry insights.
ICMS professional placements provide a platform for students to pursue their career ambitions, with many gaining practical experience with well-known global brands.
Marketing student Bianca Gonzalez Soto gained international experience with Under Armour, while Laura Smith (pictured) launched her motorsport career with Supercars.
Property alumna Katyia Doughan turned her placement at CBRE into a full-time role, and fashion students Lucinda Hickson and Indigo Kelly gained valuable insights into the retail industry at The Iconic.

ICMS’s industry partnerships provide students with opportunities to gain practical experience and develop their careers.
Prior to securing their professional placements, students participate in employability workshops and work one-on-one with Work Integrated Learning consultants to prepare for their placements, as well as employment after graduation.
With more than 1,000 industry partners, students across all specialisations can be placed in roles that complement their academic learning through practical application.
These placements help students develop skills, gain experience, and build networks to launch their careers.
At ICMS, industry and education work together to create opportunities for students.
