Dr Atif Ali

Dr Atif Ali is the Associate Dean of Information Technology at the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), providing academic leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate Information Technology (IT) courses. 

With extensive experience in Australian higher education, Dr Ali brings expertise in academic leadership, IT Project Management, curriculum development, academic governance, quality assurance and industry engagement. 

Before joining ICMS, he held senior academic leadership positions at Swinburne University of Technology, Sydney, including Head of IT Programs and Head of Department. He subsequently served as Course Coordinator for postgraduate programs at Victoria University, Sydney. 

Dr Ali holds a PhD specialising in IT Project Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology. He is a member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Project Management Institute (PMI). 

His academic and professional interests include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, digital transformation and the integration of emerging technologies into higher education. 

At ICMS, Dr Ali is focused on strengthening industry-connected education, supporting academic excellence and preparing graduates with the technical knowledge, professional capabilities and leadership skills needed to succeed in the technology sector. 

He is particularly passionate about connecting academic learning with real-world industry practice and developing opportunities for students to build successful, long-term careers in IT.
