Job Details:

  • Location: North Canberra Hospital, Bruce, ACT
  • Pay Rate: $33.61 per hour (including casual loading)
  • Employment Type: Casual
  • Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Work Days: Monday to Friday

The Position:
As a Catering Assistant, you will:

  • Assist with basic food and meal preparation
  • Serve meals to patients throughout the hospital

  • Follow all Food and Safety procedures

The Person:
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Thrives under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
  • Is a team player but can also work independently
  • Has a flexible approach and strong communication skills
  • Can meet serology clearance requirements (or is willing to obtain required vaccinations)
  • Possesses a National Police Clearance or Working With Vulnerable People Check (or is willing to obtain one)

We are looking for event management students to volunteer and assist with the 2025 TLA Landscape Expo. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event logistics, registration, and attendee management in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts

7:30 AM – 10:30 AM
10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Arrival Time: Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift.

Key Responsibilities

Assist at the registration desk by guiding attendees through self-service badge printing kiosks. Distribute showbags to attendees upon arrival. Help manage attendee check-ins, event flow, and support front-of-house logistics.

Event management students.

Key Duties

Assist the Executive Chef in menu design and execution for all meals and events. Support the kitchen team through training, development, and leadership. Essential Skills

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen (fine dining preferred). Degree or diploma in culinary arts or related field preferred. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
