Working at ICMS

Our Approach to Employment

The Institution is committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment that enables staff to fulfil their duties to the best of their ability while remaining accountable for their performance.

All staff are encouraged to value relationships and build culture by demonstrating the Institutional Values.

The Institutional Values along with the entire Employee Handbook, policies and job description, set the expected standards of conduct in the workplace to ensure employees are aware of our Code of Conduct.

Fair and Transparent Employment

We ensure all staff are employed in line with Australian workplace laws and industry standards. This includes:

  • Clear employment contracts outlining roles, responsibilities and conditions
  • Fair and competitive pay aligned with relevant awards and frameworks
  • Accurate, timely payment of salaries and wages
  • Compliance with superannuation and employment obligations

Transparency is important to us – staff always know how their pay and conditions are determined.

Types of Roles

We offer a range of employment opportunities depending on the needs of the role, including:

  • Ongoing (permanent) roles
  • Fixed-term positions
  • Casual roles
  • Sessional (teacher/instructor or academic teachers)

Each role is designed to reflect the nature of the work and the experience required.

Pay, Benefits and Support

We are committed to getting pay right. Our systems and processes are designed to ensure:

  • Staff are paid correctly and on time
  • Payslips clearly show earnings, deductions and superannuation
  • Any payroll issues are addressed quickly and transparently

If something isn’t right, we encourage staff to speak up. We take concerns seriously and resolve them promptly.

Leave and Work-Life Balance

We support our people to balance work and life commitments. Staff have access to leave entitlements in line with legislation and are encouraged to use them responsibly to maintain wellbeing.

We also respect the importance of time outside of work, including the ability to disconnect, while balancing the needs of students and operations.

Professional Growth

At ICMS, we invest in our people. We encourage ongoing learning and development to help staff grow in their careers, build new skills and contribute to our community.

A Culture of Respect

You can expect to work in a safe and supportive environment. To this end, the Institution encourages respectful relationships and a culture of respect across its community at all times.

Our Commitment

We are committed to continuously improving how we support our people – ensuring fairness, compliance and a workplace culture where everyone can thrive.
