ICMS ranks above public universities in Student Experience Metrics

October 7, 2025

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) has ranked higher than Australian public universities for three key areas in the Business and Management field of education.

That’s according to the latest Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) 2024 Student Experience Survey results.

The independent survey highlights ICMS as a leading choice for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the three crucial areas of peer engagement, teaching quality and skills development.

ICMS Leads in Core Student Experience Metrics

In key measures that matter most to students and employers alike, ICMS out-ranks public universities for:

  • Peer Engagement: 76.5% for undergraduate, 89.4% for postgraduate coursework
  • Teaching Quality: 89.4% for postgraduate coursework
  • Skills Development: 90.2% for postgraduate coursework

These results underscore ICMS’s ongoing commitment to delivering a student experience rooted in real-world outcomes and industry relevance.

Industry-Centric Education Sets ICMS Apart

ICMS credits its standout performance to an industry-driven curriculum model. Courses are designed using a backward approach, starting with the skills employers seek, then working back to shape every subject.

Nearly 90% of ICMS faculty remain active in their respective industries, bringing up-to-date expertise and genuine mentorship into the classroom. This practical foundation is a defining factor in the College’s continued high performance.

A Closer Community and Industry Connections

ICMS’s educational ethos, “Big enough to connect you, small enough to connect with you”, sets the institution apart from public universities.

Students benefit from smaller class sizes, personalised support, and access to world-class facilities. This environment encourages stronger connections among students, academics, and industry leaders.

Industry Access Beyond the Lecture Room

The College’s strong industry ties give students hands-on learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

With a network of more than 1,000 industry partners, the College connects students with industry leaders through internship placements, masterclasses, site visits, and industry immersions. These are just some of the companies that have participated in recent masterclasses on campus or welcomed us to their headquarters:

76% of ICMS graduates receive job offers from their WIL placement companies, giving students both experience and earnings while they study.
