Given the collaborative nature of these experiences, hospitality, and tourism managers in both the public and private sectors must demonstrate advanced knowledge and appreciation of the diverse and unique needs of stakeholders. Achieving success within this dynamic industry necessitates adept navigation of culturally diverse environments, wherein managers are tasked not only with understanding the singular needs of visitors but also with deploying strategic management methodologies to ensure the delivery of exceptional experiences.
This subject aims to provide students with an interdisciplinary toolkit for planning, designing, and overseeing visitor experiences, providing valuable insight into diverse settings and attractions. Through exploration of sustainable management approaches at various scales, from local to international, students engage with theoretical concepts and practical case studies. Furthermore, the subject emphasises the development of critical analysis and communication skills, empowering students to articulate well-supported arguments and solutions in the realm of visitor experience management.
a) Apply core theories, management principles and practices to construct a comprehensive understanding of visitor behaviour and management.
