EVT201A
This subject introduces students to the broad event planning principles and project management skills. It aims to engage students in the hands-on planning of a chosen event concept, and the use of event industry tools to plan their chosen event.
Students will also learn how to interpret an event brief and demonstrate their planning skills for a real event.
EVT102B
This subject introduces students to the foundational principles and practices of event planning, with a focus on the structured processes, documentation, and industry-standard tools used to plan events effectively and safely across a range of event contexts. It provides students with an understanding of how events are planned in practice, from initial briefing through to preparation for delivery.
Students develop practical planning capabilities by interpreting event briefs and applying established planning frameworks to prepare core event documentation, including timelines, budgets, site considerations, and service requirements. The subject emphasises procedural accuracy, coordination, and attention to detail, reflecting contemporary industry expectations for entry-level event planning roles.
Through applied learning activities and assessment-based tasks, students engage with authentic planning scenarios that support the development of professional skills and confidence.
