Event logistics is a critical component of successful event delivery, encompassing the coordination of people, infrastructure, equipment, services, and information across diverse event contexts. This subject develops students’ understanding of how logistical decisions shape event operations, risk management, and overall event effectiveness in both physical and hybrid environments.
Students examine contemporary logistics practices used in event management, with particular attention to operational coordination, vendor and stakeholder interfaces, and the use of digital and technology-enabled systems to support planning and execution. The subject emphasises how logistics planning responds to site constraints, event scale, audience needs, and sustainability considerations.
Through applied learning activities and industry-informed assessment tasks, students analyse logistics challenges, evaluate the role of event technologies, and prepare practical logistics documentation aligned with professional practice. The subject builds analytical and planning capabilities required for intermediate event management roles and supports progression toward more complex operational and delivery-focused subjects.
Learning Outcomes:
a) Interpret the role and key components of logistics within contemporary event management contexts.
b) Analyse logistical requirements and operational challenges across different event environments.
c) Evaluate the use of event technologies and digital systems in supporting logistics planning and execution.
d) Prepare a structured event logistics plan that addresses coordination, resources, and operational requirements.
