Social Life at ICMS

ICMS social life colour run

Connection. Growth. Unforgettable moments.

At ICMS, the student life is vibrant, inclusive and full of opportunity. Our active social community hosts a diverse calendar of events, both formal and informal, on campus and around Sydney. Whether you’re networking at a professional gathering, playing team sports or going on an excursion to the beach, there’s always something happening.

Our dedicated Student Experience team is here to support you every step of the way, encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone and fully engage in everything student life has to offer. Because at ICMS, we believe life rewards those who take action.

SRC-organised social activities

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) strives to continuously enhance the quality of student life for our entire for everyone at ICMS. SRC members are elected by their peers to act as advocate for the student body.  The SRC President is also involved in a variety of committees at ICMS to ensure that the student voice is being heard.

Working alongside the Student Experience team, the SRC plans and organises a range of social activities, including major events such as the Icebreaker Party, cocktail nights and movie sessions.

Cultural activities

ICMS often holds cultural events for students. In he past, these have included Oktoberfest, Thanksgiving and Asian Noodle Market nights. For the classically minded, there are opportunities to attend concerts and plays in Sydney theatres, open-air venues and even at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Student clubs and associations

ICMS is home to many associations and student groups. The SRC organises these at the start of each trimester depending on student interest and demand. If students wish to start another club, the SRC can help facilitate this. Some of the recent clubs at ICMS include Surf Club, Games Club, Music Club, and Golf Club.

Student volunteering

ICMS encourages students to volunteer within ICMS and the local community. The SRC has a Community Engagement team that organises volunteering and fundraising opportunities in the local community. Some recent examples include:

  • Volunteer dog walkers at Monica’s Doggie Rescue
  • Event and volunteer coordination at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum centenary celebrations
  • Operation Easter Bunny (a collection of easter eggs, chocolates and toys for Bear Cottage)
  • Cancer ribbon fundraiser for Northern Beaches Cancer Care
  • World’s Biggest Morning Tea event in support of the Cancer Council
  • SRC Beach Cleanup Day

There are also many ICMS activities that students can volunteer for throughout the trimester, such as graduation, Orientation Week and Open Day. Students may even be rewarded with a volunteer certificate as a thank you for their time.
