Nine out of ten International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) students graduate with a job in their field, according to the Internal Graduate Survey (2018).
The survey, commissioned by ICMS and responded to by 144 graduates after the college’s most recent graduation ceremony on 16 November, confirmed the higher education institution’s success in producing career-ready graduates who are highly employable.
“The results of the Internal Graduate Survey confirm that ICMS is leading the way in preparing students to transition seamlessly from campus into the corporate world,” ICMS President and CEO Dr Dominic Szamowski said.
“Graduate employability is high on our list of priorities because we want our students to find a job and add value to organisations as soon as they leave campus. It’s what sets us apart from other institutions, and what sets our students up for a successful future in their chosen field.”
ICMS offers a wide range of university-level under-graduate and post-graduate degrees and courses, and industry training is key to the high graduate employability rate, with work placements built into each course of study.
The strong relationship ICMS enjoys with over 1000 industry partners contributes greatly to the 90% graduate employment rate highlighted by the survey.
While the ICMS student body represents over 40 different countries from around the world, there was almost an even split between international and domestic graduates who took part in the survey, 51% and 49% respectively.
Other findings underlined the remarkably overall positive student experience graduates enjoyed at ICMS, with 81% saying that their years at ICMS were among the best of their lives.
91% of respondents said they would recommend ICMS to a friend, with 90% saying they made lifelong international connections while studying at ICMS.
Unsurprisingly, 94% of respondents agreed that ICMS, located in Northern Beaches, NSW, Sydney, has an “amazing” campus location. Manly Beach, a stone’s throw from ICMS’ main campus, was named as the best beach in Australia by TripAdvisor’s 2018 Travellers’ Choice Awards. In total, there are nine beautiful beaches within walking distance of campus.
“We are proud of the fact that our students thoroughly enjoy their time with us, making lifelong connections and lasting memories, as we are of the fact that 90% of them walk into jobs straight after leaving us,” Szambowski said.
“This is no small feat, and is a measure of the time and effort our faculty and staff put in to ensuring that ICMS is the best place to study in Australia for students who want to make the most of their student years as preparation for a successful future in their chosen fields.”
