ICMS ‘safe’ from australian seasonal wildfires

ICMS ‘safe’ from australian seasonal wildfires

January 21, 2020

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) would like to assure students that the higher education institute campuses located in Northern Beaches and Sydney, NSW, are a safe distance from the seasonal wildfires that are currently burning across Australia.

“We would like to address concerns students may have around the wildfires that have devastated parts of Australia over the current bushfire season. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fires, and our hearts go out to them,” ICMS CEO and President Dr Dominic Szambowski said.

“However, we would like to reassure students and their families that ICMS campuses, both in the Northern Beaches and in the Sydney CBD, are at least an hour and a half’s drive away from any reported fires. Currently the nearest high risk fires are in the Blue Mountains around 100km away. As such, our students and staff are largely safe and out of harm’s way.”

While the unprecedented severity of the seasonal bushfires is devastating for Australia in general, Manly and the city of Sydney are both secure. The situation will be closely monitored and further updates relating directly to ICMS will be posted on the ICMS website. Students are encouraged to use the link below for the latest information on the fires.

“While it is ‘business as usual’ here at ICMS, we are in the process of reaching out to all regional students who could be affected by the fires to see how we can help,” Szambowski said.

ICMS is also working with the Manly Business Chamber to support in fundraising efforts for the NSW Rural Fire Service.
