Q: What is your current role?
I am the event manager at Lendlease Group, a multinational construction, property and infrastructure company headquartered in Sydney, Australia.

Q: What career achievements are you especially proud of?
I’m proud of taking the event floor here at Lendlease prior to it being fully commissioned, with no prior event experience, and ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly while implementing our own systems customised to the space we have.

Other career achievements I am proud of are being named Top Upseller at Pier One, Sydney Harbour, in 2015; and being a Guest Service Agent of the Year Nominee back when I was working for Peppers.

Q: How has your ICMS degree contributed to you achieving your professional goals?
Hospitality is a big aspect of any event. You learn the skills to deal with both clients and guests which is crucial to event management.

Q: What were the major contributing factors to your decision to study at ICMS?
I started my studies at Queenstown Resort College in New Zealand so it was simple for me to come to Australia and complete my degree at one of the best looking campuses in the world.

Q: What were your highlights during your time at ICMS?
I applied to be Residential Assistant at one of the ICMS residences on a whim with no expectations as to what the role was going to entail. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Q: What lessons did you learn from your industry training?
Take note of everything you do on the job. You will absorb that information and it will help you improve your decision-making skills down the track.

Q: What would be your advice to someone considering studying at ICMS?
Do it. You’ll never dread a day of studying at ICMS in your life.

YeYessQ: What is the best thing about working in your industry?
One day is never the same as the next, and your people management skills will be off the charts once you get some experience under your belt.
