Marriott International, ICMS empower future hoteliers with innovative industry alliance

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) has collaborated with Marriott International to offer aspiring hoteliers the ultimate pathway to a career in the hospitality industry.

Offered to a single student per annum, this prestigious 4 year program allows an ICMS Bachelor of Hospitality Management student to complete their degree while simultaneously working at Marriott International in various locations and capacities.

“We are proud of our alliance with Marriott International which will further reinforce our Bachelor of Hospitality Management students as sought after graduates within the hospitality industry,” ICMS CEO Rowan Courtney-O’Connor said.

“At ICMS, we believe in enhancing our students’ learning experience by working closely with industry leaders.”

As part of the program, students will receive a competitive wage while attending structured classes at ICMS. This unique approach provides a seamless integration of their education and career launch with Marriott International.

Launch pad to a career in hospitality

“We are thrilled to launch the first-of-its kind hotel program in Australia in collaboration with the ICMS,” Sean Hunt, Area Vice President – Australia, New Zealand and Pacific at Marriott International, said in a statement.

“Our partnership with ICMS allows us to open the door to new talent to join our teams and experience the industry as they’re starting out through the lens of our people-first culture.”

Upon completing their studies, graduates will have the opportunity to join the Marriott team as a valuable employee in the hotel management field. This opportunity provides the chance to cultivate and develop skills while gaining hands-on experience in the industry.

After graduation, students may progress to the award-winning Marriott “Voyage” leadership development program – a 12 to 18 month program offering hands-on hotel-based training that equips students with the essential leadership and management skills required for a successful career in the hotel industry.
