Postgrads: Fill The WIL (Internship) Gap With A Second ICMS Master’s Degree

A number of postgraduate students have reached out to us concerned that the effects of COVID-19 will impact on their WIL (Internship) component and course completion. In those conversations it became clear that many students were open to studying more academic subjects while the economy recovers.

​ In response to this ICMS would like to offer its postgraduate students ​the opportunity to graduate with two ​Master’s degrees ​by completing four ​additional subjects of study ​in Semester 2 2020

How will it work and who is eligible?

Current Master’s ​Semester 3 and 4 students who have completed and passed 12 subjects (3 semesters minimum) will be able to complete four ​additional subjects and receive a ​second ​Master’s degree from ICMS – ​the additional subjects will be determined by your chosen additional degree, be that :

• Master of International Business,
• Master of Management, or
• Master of Management (Tourism and Hospitality).

Cost

The cost of the ​four additional academic subjects (and hence your second Master’s degree​) will be only $7,000 AUD (​that’s a 50% reduction in fees) and payment plans ​will be available ​if required. You will only need to complete one WIL (Internship) component for the two Master’s degrees. This unique, ​COVID-19 related, offer is ​only available to current ICMS postgraduate students in Semester 3 and 4

Additional benefits

• For international students your COE will be extended for a further 7 months to add an extra study period
• ​Unless you already have a placement confirmed, your WIL (Internship) component is recommended for February 2021 semester. This makes it more likely that economic situations have improved and a wider variety of work placement is possible
• Slightly postponing graduation will help future job prospects with an improved economy
• Graduating with two Masters degrees gives you an edge over the competition
• No effect to your Post Study Work Visa status
• Students will be able to request their preferred timetable to schedule classes at a time that suits you
