Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) is an educational strategy that aims to foster collaborative learning and student engagement. This research project examines the impact of the PALs program at ICMS on academic performance and explores the motivations and psychosocial benefits for students participating as mentors or mentees.
Grounded in theories of social learning and student engagement, the study aims to identify best practices in PAL programs across higher education and understand how participation influences academic success and wellbeing. The project aligns with the ICMS Civic Leadership Strategy 2024–2026 and supports the Student Success Centre’s mission to promote sustainable learning initiatives that enhance student experience.

This project is funded by ICMS`s Targeted Call for Scholarship grant between 2025–2026 and aligns with institutional impact goals for student success and civic leadership.
