Dr Shuvashis Saha is an academic with more than seven years of experience in higher education, specialising in information technology, networking, and data-driven systems. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Sydney, with a research focus on photonics, optical networking and communication.
Dr Saha has extensive teaching experience across leading Australian higher education institutions, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in data analytics, cybersecurity, data communications and networks, machine learning, and emerging technologies. He has also held academic leadership responsibilities as Head of Program (PG-IT) at an Australian institute, where he oversaw program quality, curriculum development, academic governance, and student success initiatives across multiple subjects and cohorts. His leadership experience includes managing teaching staff, coordinating assessments, and supporting institutional quality assurance processes.
In addition to his teaching and leadership roles, Dr Saha has postdoctoral research experience at the University of Sydney, working on machine learning-driven approaches for data-centric engineering systems. His work contributes to interdisciplinary research and the integration of research-informed practices into teaching.
