Subject Aim:

In a rapidly changing world environment, the significance of international accounting has grown substantially along with the expansion of international business activity. It is the overall aim of this subject is to provide you with the information and skills relevant to understand and evaluate international accounting systems and related business decision-making techniques. It will also enable you to explore the complexity and diversity of international accounting. While the subject covers a number of important areas, the aim is not only to inform you about major issues, ideas and development, but to also stimulate further inquiry and debate.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate a capacity to work independently, including the ability to plan and achieve goals in complex research.
  • Apply commercial and business theories and concepts to problems and practice.
  • Critically evaluate underlying theories, concepts, assumptions, limitations and arguments in disciplinary and cross-disciplinary fields of study.
  • Confidently and coherently communicate, in writing and orally, to a professional standard in major fields of study.
  • Conduct research using archives, libraries, the web and other sources of information for decision making.
