ICMS Gains Self-Accrediting Authority Status

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) has been granted Self-Accrediting Authority (SAA) status by TEQSAin management and commerce and hospitality.

A Step Towards University College Status 

This significant milestone marks the next phase in ICMS’s progression toward achieving its long-term goal of becoming a University College 

With this recognition, ICMS joins an elite group of institutions.

We are now only the thirdprovider in Australia to attain SAA in the management and commercebroad field of education,andthe only provider in Australia to attainSAA in thefood and hospitalitynarrow field of education.

“Today, we celebrate not just a milestone but a moment that reflects the vision,integrity and purposeof everyone at ICMS,” said ICMS President and Managing Director Rowan Courtney-O’Connor 

Reflecting on the Journey 

ICMS has spent 13 years working towardsthis challenging yet rewarding journey to SAA status.  

Reflecting on this achievement, ICMS Founder Darryl Courtney-O’Connordescribed the day as “incredible” and compared the process to summitingHillary Stepon Mount Everest.  

He likened this milestone to Hillary Step,because itsthelastmajor technical challenge on the South Col routebefore reaching the summit of Everest.  

“The path to this point has been full of ups and downs, but we’ve climbed higher than ever,” he said. 

A Collaborative Success 

This success is a collective achievement.  

Special thanks were extended to the Academicand Quality Assurance teams, as well as key individuals who contributed over the years.  

Their dedication and hard work laid the foundation for ICMS to achieve this recognition. 

A Milestone in a 30-Year Legacy 

Founded in 1996, ICMS has spent nearly 30 years delivering industry-focused higher education.  

With over 2,000 students from more than 50 countries, ICMS operates campuses in the Northern Beachesand in Sydney’s business district 

ICMS’s dedication to industry-relevant education is supported by over 1,000 industry partners, a fact that has long set it apart from other institutions.  

While ICMS is widely recognised for its strengths in businessand hospitality, the institution offers a diverse range of courses. These include bachelor’sand postgraduate degrees, pathway programs, and Study Abroad opportunities. 

ICMS’s commitment to academic excellence is evident across all areas, from its industry-centered curriculum to its focus on the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT).  

Beyond academics, ICMS shines in its civic role within the Northern Beaches community. 

The college has a longstanding relationship with the Manly Business Chamber, showcasing its dedication to not just enhancing education but also strengthening local business partnerships.
