ICMS Achieves Top Spot in QILT 2024 Rankings

June 17, 2024

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) has achieved the top-ranked position in key areas of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation, and Tourism in the 2024 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) rankings.

ICMS has been recognised as the Number 1 institution in Australia for undergraduate Hospitality, Sport and Recreation, and Tourism, both in terms of graduate employment (92%) and skills development (First and Final Year 87.8%).

According to the QILT May 2024 National Graduate Outcomes Report, 116,250 students completed QILT surveys from 126 institutions, including Australian universities and private higher education providers.

Exceptional Graduate Employment Rates

According to the QILT 2024 rankings, the 92% employment rate for its undergraduate Hospitality, Sport and Recreation, and Tourism graduates puts ICMS ahead of any other participating institution.

This underscores the effectiveness of ICMS’ degrees in preparing students for successful careers in these industries.

“Our consistent top ranking in graduate employability reflects our unwavering dedication to providing students with real-world skills and experiences,” said ICMS President and Managing Director Rowan Courtney-O’Connor.

“We collaborate closely with industry leaders and partners to ensure our curriculum is aligned with the demands of the job market, enabling our graduates to seamlessly transition into their careers.”

Leading in Skills Development

ICMS has also been ranked Number 1 in Australia for skills development in undergraduate Hospitality, Sport and Recreation, and Tourism programs, with 87.8% of students in both their first and final years reporting positive outcomes.

This achievement highlights ICMS’s excellence in equipping students with the necessary skills to thrive in the hospitality and events industries.

“The key to our success in skills development lies in our hands-on approach to education,” said Courtney-O’Connor.

“We offer our students a blend of academic rigor and industry experience, ensuring they graduate not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the confidence and competence to excel in their chosen industries.”

Consistent Excellence

ICMS has a long-standing reputation for excellence in both skills development and graduate employability, particularly in the areas of hospitality.

The higher education institution, located in Northern Beaches, Sydney, NSW, and in the city of Sydney, has consistently performed well in the QILT rankings over the years.

For example, the QILT 2022 survey ranked ICMS #1 in Australia for undergraduate skills development in the study areas of Hospitality, Sport and Recreation, and Tourism.

As far back as 2017, leading research company Kantar Group (Kantar Millward Brown) ranked ICMS number one in Australia for Event Management and Hospitality Management – based on graduate employability.

In addition to its top spot in Hospitality, ICMS has also ranked highly in other categories such as Teaching Quality, Student Support, and Overall Satisfaction.

These relate to degrees offered by ICMS alongside tourism and hospitality across a wide range of industries from sports management and fashion to property, accounting, entrepreneurship and more.

“Our consistent ranking among the best higher education institutions in Australia proves our commitment to delivering quality education and producing highly employable graduates,” said Courtney-O’Connor.
