6 ways ICMS helps students strike a study-Life balance

November 29, 2020

From offering days totally free of lectures to free parking on campus, here are our top 6 reasons why studying at ICMS helps you strike a study-life balance – giving an opportunity to really enjoy those other things that are important: like Manly Beach on your doorstep; the bustling city of Sydney a short ferry ride away; or even the part-time job you’re holding down to help fund your studies while gaining valuable work experience.

In these time of global stress ICMS offers certainty and aims to give students the right study-life balance.

6 Ways ICMS helps students to Strike a Study-Life Balance

1. Timetables That Aim to Have You in Class Only Two (2) Days Per Week

At ICMS, we understand students want to do more than just study. We want you to enjoy a study-life balance outside the lecture theatres or zoom, or have the flexibility to work part-time. With five days of the week at your disposal, we reckon you can do both! Make sure you have us as a 1st preference to get your ultimate timetable.

2. Choice Between Face to Face and Virtual Studies, or Both

In 2021, ICMS is intending to run face to face classes for core subjects at both the Manly and City campuses, so students can come to campus for lectures if they like. If that’s not convenient, you can also choose to study core subjects and other electives online. The choice is yours.

3. Your Internship Is Part of Your Degree – and We Help You Land It

Every ICMS bachelor degree has an internship component, and a dedicated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team member in house that will help you find the perfect match for your skills and interests. You don’t have to hunt for an internship on your own, and you won’t be left with a degree and no relevant work experience. Read more about Internships

4. Free Parking on Our Northern Beaches Campus… (and the ICMS Bus if You Need It)

If you choose to drive to campus, you can park for free. Enough said.

If you don’t have your own wheels, get public transport to Manly and jump onto the ICMS bus to get you to the castle on the hill. Our City campus is also conveniently located 3min walk to Central Station. Check out public transport schedules

5. On Campus or Off-Campus Residence Accommodation

Campus living is an ideal way to make the most of our spectacular campus location. ICMS and Aspire Institute students who live on campus in either Kelly or Moran House enjoy a fantastic lifestyle with all meals provided, wireless internet, 24 hour access to computer labs, as well as the luxury of being in close proximity to classes, and the world-famous Manly beach.

If you choose to live off campus, but want the convenience of an ICMS-run establishment, there is the choice of Claremont Beach House or Wanganella house. Browse Accommodation

6. Dedicated Wellbeing and Student Success Centre

ICMS is committed to the personal wellbeing of its students physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We recognise that personal wellbeing is important for students to progress academically with a positive approach to their education and campus experience. We have a dedicated team in the student success centre to help students with any study-life matters. Read more about Student Support

But don’t just take it from us. Here’s what current Student Georgina Johnston said about her study-life balance at ICMS:

“It wasn’t until after coming across ICMS that everything changed. After attending the open day in 2016 and meeting the bubbly and enthusiastic staff and students, I knew this place was like no other. The magnificent views and prime location over Manly Beach, the small intimate class sizes without lecture halls and the fact that full time study was only 2-3 days were just a few of the draw cards for me.”
