Information for international students

Studying away from home in Sydney, Australia is your chance to immerse yourself in a new culture, expand your horizons, make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.

International students on student visas must complete their course within the duration specified on their Confirmation of Enrolment (COE). The course duration is based on a full-time study load in each study period.

Do I need to attend Orientation before I start my studies?

Orientation is an important part of the ICMS journey.

It is always held during the the week before your studies start. Depending on which intake you are enrolled in, your Orientation may run for a couple of days up to a full week (you’ll hear us refer to this as O-Week).

If you can’t attend in person, some of the briefing sessions will be available online.

What happens at Orientation?

Orientation is an incredible opportunity to make friends, explore our campuses and get your first insight into what studying at ICMS is like.

It might include:

  • campus tours
  • academic course briefings
  • IT sessions
  • getting familiar with ICMS’s learning systems, including Moodle
  • movie nights
  • games nights
  • exploring Manly and Shelly Beach (walks, beach sessions, and nightlife tours)
  • exploring the Sydney CBD
  • ICMS Welcome Cocktail Reception
  • SRC Basement Bar parties.

How do I find out about my Orientation?

All Orientation communications are sent to your ICMS student email. If you have not received these emails, please contact your country manager or agent to chase up the status of your enrolment.
