Announcement from dr dominic szambowski 18 march 2020

Message from dr dominic szambowski, icms ceo & president

Dear students and staff

Since well before the outbreak of COVID-19, the College has been preparing for an option for online delivery of all subjects. With the health and wellbeing of our students and staff as our top priority, we are moving all classes to Online Delivery, for two weeks, from Monday 23rd March until Friday April 3rd.

This means for the two weeks until April 3rd – please do not come to campus.

Our subjects all have Moodle sites and these will have links to zoom online classrooms for participating in tutorials at the same time as current classes. All students need to do is to log into Moodle and click on the zoom classroom link at the start of the normal class time. The online learning option will continue initially for at least two weeks but could go longer if necessary.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • We have no known cases on any ICMS campuses
  • Our plans are guided by government advice on travel restrictions and social distancing
  • You are safest if you stay in Australia and continue your studies online
  • All the learning materials, activities and assessment tasks are available in Moodle, including the zoom link
  • Assessment tasks including final exams will be online and you will have the opportunity to practice in the exam environment
  • Residential students will be able to access their Moodle and zoom environments from campus, maintaining social distancing

To all our staff, we ask that you utilise Zoom for all your meetings. If this is not possible and you have to meet in the same room it must be with less than 10 people, and stay 1.5 metres away from each other. Please take a record of who is in each meeting room together and send to your manager for keeping.

Thank you,

Dr Dominic John Szambowski
President
